Statement

JP

EN
I see photography as a way of forming a relationship with the world. By photographing, I try to preserve the meaning that emerges from that encounter.

I feel there is a subtle distance between people and the world. In everyday life, this distance often goes unnoticed, yet it quietly appears in fleeting moments.

When a person and the world come into contact, a small meaning begins to emerge. I aim to capture these moments — the landscapes of contact, and the traces of human presence.

from loss, to life, to prayer.
Each chapter stands alone, yet together they form one breath.

"Fluctuation"

Fluctuation is a short photo zine observing subtle shifts in distance, presence, and reflection.Through the movement of water and the quiet behavior of wild ducks, this work explores moments where boundaries soften and perception becomes unstable.Rather than defining meaning, the series invites the viewer to remain within the fluctuation itself.

"a pause"

There are moments in life that feel like a rest.
A brief pause between actions, where time softens and the world grows quiet.
This small zine gathers photographs of water surfaces, reflections, and fleeting encounters—moments that do not demand attention, but simply remain.
A pause is not an absence. It is a space where breathing returns.

"Between"

Between is a small photo zine consisting of five images, collecting moments that emerge at boundaries—between water and sky, ground and air.
It feels as if something was touched, yet not quite. As if something was understood, but never became words.
Within that ambiguity, these photographs record a gaze that pauses, just for a moment.
There are no clear answers or narratives.Only the tremble, and the remaining space.

On the work

Quiet Studies
Structure studies

For me, photography is a way of remeasuring my distance from the world.
In TRILOGY, I looked into the space between my inner life and the world through emotion and prayer.
In Quiet Studies, I explored small points of contact and the breath that moves through stillness and margin.
In Structure studies, my gaze turns toward the city, confronting structure and pressure while bringing forth the tension and abstraction that lie within reality.
Though these works take different forms, they are all connected by the same question: how I come into contact with the world, and what kinds of sensations arise at that meeting point.
